Roark Women’s Collection- Made for Adventure.

This winter, Roark quietly launched their first women’s apparel collection made for adventure. The decade old brand crafts purpose-built apparel and bags inspired by travel.  Each seasonal collection is designed around the experiences of a specific destination.  The adventures are imbued with escapism:  riding motorcycles down dusty roads, seeking out less-discovered waves, lakeside sunrises.

The inaugural women’s collection was inspired by the waves and mountains of a classic New Zealand road trip. Earthy tones and versatile comfort reign supreme. Roark Women’s is very wearable with a tousled-beach-hair California-inspired style. I’m always refreshed to find a brand that is stylish, functional, and delivers solid staples rather than overly trend-driven pieces.  The Layover pants, a pair of pull-on straight-leg pants, and the Layover  Jumpsuit, a tailored one-and-done outfit, are poised to infiltrate the weekly rotation.

Roark’s NEW spring collection was dreamt up and tested in Tahiti, across the separate archipelagos, atolls, and valleys.  Roark’s current resident artist, Tahitian creative Yiling Changues, collaborated with the brand,  bringing to life  tropical patterns in breezy, cool fabrics. "For me, designing these patterns is a tool and way to talk about Tahitian culture in a more modern kind of way. For example, I really love to bring human-like shapes to nature because in Tahiti we are always surrounded by nature and we belong to it — not the other way around,” says Changues. A portion of all proceeds from her collection will be donated to the non-profit Tamarii no te Moana, an organization that Yiling is working with, aiding in coral restoration throughout the islands.

As temperatures warm, the matching Idle short and Idle Button Up Shirt is shaping up to become an easy go-to uniform. Explore Roarks fall and spring women’s collection at Roark
